Honeycomb EMC Air Ventilation panels (Attenuvents) |
 |
Kemtron has invested heavily in setting up a state-of-the-art production facility for in-house production of Aluminium framed EMC Honeycomb Vent Panels.
Fully programmable CNC machines for the notching & cutting of the frame extrusions and drilling of exact and repeatable holes combined with the latest TIG welding equipment
allows Kemtron to offer a fast delivery, competitive range of aluminium vent panels produced to customer designs. This advanced technology also eliminates the need for
additional tooling and set-up charges. Kemtron has a large range of Aluminium extrusions and Aluminium honeycomb held in stock.
Kemtron can also offer a range of Steel vents types for more demanding EMI/EMP applications, please contact us as to discuss your requirements. |
Kemtron's standard finish (KEM-PAS) for aluminium vent panels fully meets the RoHS directive and replaces Alocrom 1200. Kemtron's in-house process applies a permanganate passivation which is a chromate free, inorganic and non toxic coating. The process produces a dense, uniform coating consisting of aluminium and reduced manganese oxides giving a golden yellow colour to the surface. The surface finish is conductive with a low contact resistance equalling Alocrom 1200. It also meets all requirements of MIL-C-5541E for corrosion and electrical conductivity. |

Kemtron aluminium foil honeycomb vent panels offer high performance EMI shielding whilst maintaining maximum airflow to facilitate ventilation and cooling in enclosures. The honeycomb is very lightweight and is made up of bonded aluminium foil strips that are expanded to form the familiar hexagonal design. |
 |
The standard honeycomb vent panel is constructed from two layers of aluminium honeycomb set at 90°to each other and set in an extruded aluminium frame. To achieve optimum RF attenuation the overall cell thickness to cell diameter ratio needs to be 4 : 1. However Kemtron can also offer single layer styles where lower levels of shielding performance versus reduced thickness are required. Fixing points can either be plain thru-holes or inserts. Each vent is supplied with an EMC gasket to ensure effective EMI shielding and grounding. Vents can be RoHS passivated
to reduce corrosion and tin or painted finishes are also available options. For harsh environments it is possible to include various styles of kick plate to one face of the honeycomb (this will reduce the air flow but will provide protection for the honeycomb). In addition 30° and 45° honeycomb is available to provide either directional air flow or prevent ingress of dripping water (Airflow is slightly reduced with angled versions) |
