Kemtron EMC Catalogue

Kemtron EMC Catalogue

Kemtron, the leading UK manufacturer of RFI/EMI shielding solutions, has published a comprehensive new catalogue in response to customer demand.

The 144 page printed catalogue has proved popular with customers who have limited Internet access, or who prefer the convenience of a paper version that they can bookmark, add notes or use as a working reference tool.

Managing director David Wall said, “We have had a fantastic response from customers in countries like Germany, India and Turkey, as well as the UK. They welcome the fact that they can have a printed catalogue when so many suppliers only offer information on the Web.”

The catalogue provides detailed product overviews, technical specifications, application information and design considerations for Kemtron’s range of RFI/EMI shielding solutions, as well as background information on EMC and useful design tools.

If information in the catalogue changes, Kemtron publishes updates on their website

Kemtron Expands Its Production Facility

Kemtron Expands Its Production Facility

Kemtron has recently added a further 360 square meters to its manufacturing facility by taking its 3rd unit on the Kestrel Park site in Braintree Essex.

The additional space has enabled Kemtron to meet the increasing demand for its EMI shielding products and provide a good growth platform for the future. The new facility is dedicated to the metalworking side of the business giving addition space for the production EMC honeycomb vents, Knitted wire mesh products and the expansion of the tooling department. This in turn has given more space for the expansion of conductive elastomers with the addition of 2 new extruders and presses.

Kemtron’s aggressive expansion plan is to meet the demands from all sectors and markets in particular to meet the successes of its French sales operation.

Kemtron Launches Flame Retardant EMC Shielding Gasket

Kemtron Launches Flame Retardant EMC Shielding Gasket

Kemtron, the British manufacturer of RFI/EMI shielding gaskets, materials and components has launched a flame retardant, low smoke, low toxicity EMC shielding gasket.

Tested and approved to the international standard UL94V-0 by Underwriters Laboratories for flame retardancy, file number E344902. Also tested for smoke density to BS 6853:1999: Annex D.8.3and oxygen index to BS EN ISO 4589-2:1999 confirming the material meets to requirements for minor internal use on vehicles category 1a such as gaskets for electronic enclosures, making it highly suitable for applications in underground transportation, trains and other safety critical applications.

The material is a nickel coated graphite loaded into silicone elastomers, product code SNG-FR, the gasket provided a highly electrically conductive path between mating flanges of an electronics equipment enclosure giving a high level of RFI/EMI shielding. The material can be supplied as an extruded strip in various profiles, “O” rings or flat die cut gaskets.

Kemtron Opens French Office

Kemtron Opens French Office

Kemtron, the British manufacturer of RFI/EMI shielding and environmental sealing solutions, has opened an office in France to provide a dedicated local sales, distribution and technical service to this important high-tech market.

The office, which is set in Courcouronnes, just south of Paris will be 100% French owned and will employ local staff.

“France is a very important market for us,” says Managing Director of Kemtron SARL Steve Halls. “In many ways it is similar to the UK, with a strong community of leading-edge companies in defence, medical equipment, information technology, transport and communications who require sophisticated shielding and sealing solutions. We find that companies like these prefer to build close long-term relationships with partners who can provide the right level of technical and specialist manufacturing expertise.”

The office represents the next stage in Kemtron’s growing presence in the French market. “We appointed a French national to handle our local business in 2009, that gave us a greater insight into the needs of the market. In November 2010 we went a step further and registered our planned French operation as a SARL, a private limited liability company, with a share capital of €50,000. We are also setting up a dedicated French website and producing local versions of our publications and product information.”

Initially, the French office will provide full sales, logistics and technical support, with plans to introduce local manufacturing in the future. Kemtron believe that dedicated local facilities like these are essential to the community of innovative companies based in France. This approach represents a powerful business model which could be replicated in other territories with a similar profile.
